UPDATE:
We sent our Communications Director, Anna, out to get an update on the beach renourishment project. Here is what she discovered. Renourishment efforts on the section of beach in front of Boulineau’s are now complete. Our beautiful stretch of beach is re-opened! Contrary to what we were initially told, the efforts will continue to the North of us. Equipment is now being moved towards the Cherry Grove Pier. In the brief five minutes that Anna was out on the beach, she was able to collect a bounty of perfect seashells (see photo below).
If you are a shell-seeker, this week will be an awesome one for you to be out combing the beaches. All of the new sand is in place and there is an abundance of shells. It’s likely that sharks’ teeth will be prevalent as well.
We are so happy that these efforts took place and the erosion to our gorgeous stretch of beach has been corrected. This process aids greatly in protecting us from further erosion in future storms. While it did cause a minor inconvenience (especially over the past weekend) the results are fantastic. We wish you all happy hunting and may the sun be bright, the water refreshing, and the waves perfect.
