It’s Raining, It’s Pouring but it Doesn’t have to be Boring!
We’ve all been there. You plan your vacation and wait all year long and then BAM! It rains! When the forecast calls for foul weather, you don’t have to let it get you down. Here are some great alternate activities to “beaching it”. There’s so much to do here on The Grand Strand.
Take in a show!
There a variety of venues and options here. You could likely see a different show every day for a week. Why not check out one of the many family-friendly shows?
Alabama Theatre at Barefoot Landing offers a great deal on their One Show all summer long. Kids are free with a paying adult. This awesome show is filled with music, dance, comedy, and so much more. You can find out more by clicking here.
Carolina Opry is a bit further from Cherry Grove but well-worth the 30 minute drive into Myrtle Beach. They feature a variety of show choices including one that showcases music from the 60’s, 70’s, and 80’s, to a magic show, to a dance and magic show combined. You can learn more by clicking here.
Legends in Concert is another great choice in Myrtle Beach. This show features impersonators including Elvis, The Blues Brothers, Tim McGraw, and Bob Marley. With this line-up, there’s something for everyone. Click here to learn more.

Go Bowling!

Grab Some Rain Gear and Head to the Beach
If there is not threat of thunder and lightning, grab some rain gear and head to the beach! This can be an awesome opportunity to find shells after a storm, when the sea has tossed and turned to unearth hidden treasure. Look for a flash of black sparkle in the sand just where the water touches – often, you will find that tiny sparkle is actually a hidden shark’s tooth.
