There is so much to see and do here in North Myrtle Beach during the summer. We have scoured the internet and search high and low to bring you a comprehensive listing of all of the fun things happening in and around Cherry Grove this summer.
Free Concerts:
There are a number of free concert events including Music on Main and The Sounds of Summer concert series.
Sounds of Summer concerts take place at the North Myrtle Beach Sports Complex on the third Friday each month from 7 to 9 pm. These family friendly concerts feature a variety of music genres. Bring chairs and blankets but leave your coolers at home. Food and beverages will be available for purchase but you are not permitted to bring them into the park. Admission is free and the event is open to all ages. Following is a list of the remaining concerts taking place this summer:

August 16 – The Tams (Beach)
September 20 – Mr. Holland’s Oats (Hall & Oats Tribute)

Music on Main takes place on Main Street in the horseshoe every Thursday evening from 7 to 9 pm. These concerts are also free and open to all. Please bring a beach chair and cooler and kick back and enjoy a variety of top-notch performers. Following is a list of scheduled performers:

Free Movies:
Another great free event is movie night at McLean Park. These showings take place on Friday evenings. The movies typically start 15 minutes after sunset. Snacks and drinks are available for purchase and proceeds benefit the North Myrtle Beach Lions Club. Although subject to change, following is a partial list of the movies scheduled:

August 9- How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World, PG

Free Fireworks:
Barefoot Landing features free fireworks every Monday night beginning at 10 pm. For more information, click here.)
Cherry Grove Fireworks:
Fourth of July means an amazing fireworks display launching from the Cherry Grove Pier. The event begins at 9:30 pm and lasts for over 30 minutes.
Independence Day:
In addition to the fireworks at Cherry Grove, there will be an American Pride March starting at 11 am on July 4th. This will culminate with a Salute from the Shore where modern and vintage aircraft do a flyover at 1:00 pm. Bring your flag and show your support.
Sports Tournaments:
There are also a variety of sporting events taking place at the North Myrtle Beach Sports complex including Fastpitch Softball, Baseball, and Soccer tournaments. You can find a complete schedule of these events by clicking here.
Other Adventures:
If you are looking for something a bit more unique and have a sense of adventure, there are a variety of other paid activities in which you can participate. These include:
Sea Turtle Nesting Tour – this takes place on Friday, July 12th (with other future dates to be announced). You’ll kayak into some secluded areas, get to view an actual sea turtle nest, and enjoy some shell collecting and beach time. They also offer shell collecting tours and a variety of other activities. Jet Ski Dolphin Tour – Aloha Watersports offers up close and personal jet ski dolphin excursions. These two hour long adventures take you from the Intracoastal water way out into the ocean where you can get an amazing view of these beautiful marine animals. Click here for more information.
Pirate Cruise –Ahoy Matey! Have we got a fun outing for you. This hour long interactive family adventure is perfect for those with children (and for the child in all of us). Alabama Theatre (at Barefoot Landing) – Kids 16 and under get in free with paid adult all summer long for the fabulous One, The Show at the Alabama Theatre.
